Thermoplastic Polyurethane

TPU is a transparent, flexible engineering polymer. In a light up lanyard it provides three properties that nylon and polyester cannot: optical clarity, waterproof sealing, and elastic recovery.

Optical clarity — the strap disappears visually, the badge carries the light

Composition
Thermoplastic polyurethane — an injection- and extrusion-grade elastomer combining rubber elasticity with plastic processability.
Clarity
Optically clear finish. Because the strap is transparent, the glowing badge appears to float at the chest without visible strap structure.
Sealing
Water and chemical resistant. The sealed electronics inside the badge operate through rain, sweat, and spills without performance loss.
Recovery
Elastic memory. The strap returns to shape after stretching or twisting, reducing deformation during long wear.
Care
Easy to clean. A wipe with a damp cloth restores the original clarity; the surface resists stains and dirt pickup.

TPU vs Nylon vs Polyester

The three strap materials in the GFH series serve different procurement profiles. TPU is selected when water, clarity, and outdoor durability are the deciding factors.

Selection Note

Choose the TPU series when the event is exposed to weather, water, or humid conditions and the transparent appearance is part of the design intent. Choose nylon when full-strap lighting and crowd-wide visibility are the priority, and polyester when full-color strap printing or custom badge shapes drive the program. Because the GFH series shares one production line, mixed-material orders are supported with one quality standard and one DDP landed cost.

GFH-002 — The TPU Series

GFH-002 is the TPU light up lanyard: a transparent waterproof strap with two badge LEDs. It is the model selected for outdoor and weather-exposed events.

TPU Lanyard Questions

Is the TPU lanyard fully waterproof? +
The TPU compound is inherently water-resistant and the electronics are sealed inside the badge, so the unit withstands rain, sweat, and spills at outdoor events. It is designed for rain-exposed and water-adjacent use rather than continuous underwater submersion.
Why choose TPU over nylon for an outdoor event? +
Nylon is matte and absorbs moisture; TPU is transparent, sealed, and does not absorb water. For weather-exposed events, TPU keeps both the appearance and the electronics stable, while nylon remains the better choice for printed crowds and ID programs.
Can the TPU strap be printed with a logo? +
The TPU series prioritizes optical clarity, so strap printing is minimal. Branding is carried on the ABS badge, which supports screen-printed or sublimated logos approved on a physical sample before production.
How long does the battery last in the GFH-002? +
Approximately 8 hours per set of 2 × CR2032 cells, covering a full event night. Cells are standard retail items and replaceable in the field.
Can the TPU lanyard be controlled with a remote or APP? +
GFH-002 operates by push button as standard. For synchronized control, RF remote (GFC004) can be configured on request; APP and DMX options are available on the acrylic models where the badge electronics support them.
What is the minimum order quantity? +
The standard MOQ is 200 units for custom orders. Orders above 1,000 units qualify for tier pricing. Mixed-model orders are supported on a single production line.
