CHAPTER 01

What Is an LED Lanyard?

An LED lanyard is a neck-worn lanyard — the standard format for credentials, badges, and keys — with a battery-powered LED lighting system integrated into the strap, the badge, or both. Because the electronics are sealed within the assembly, the product operates independently of external wiring, cabling, or power sources.

1

The Strap

Nylon, TPU, or polyester webbing, 90–92 cm long. Carries the printed branding and holds the lanyard on the wearer. Some models route light along the strap itself.

2

The Badge

Acrylic, ABS, or round medal shell. Acts as the credential surface — printed or laser-cut with logos — and houses the main LED module.

3

The LED Module

Surface-mount LEDs driven by a small controller chip. Powered by CR2032 coin cells or AAA batteries, typically running 8–12 hours per set.

4

The Control

A built-in button on every lanyard, plus optional wireless transmitters — RF remote, DMX512, or APP — for synchronized crowd-wide control.

CHAPTER 03

Where & How It Lights Up

LED lanyards differ by lighting zone and by light behavior. Two questions decide the visual effect: which part of the lanyard glows, and how the glow changes.

Three lighting zones: strap, badge, or both

A

Strap-Lit

LEDs are embedded along the strap so the full length illuminates. Maximum visibility at distance; the lanyard functions as a light line across the chest. Available on GFH-001.

B

Badge-Lit

Light is concentrated in the badge while the strap remains plain, making the badge the focal point. Used on GFH-002, GFH-003, GFH-004, and GFH-005.

C

Full-Body

Strap and badge illuminate together, forming a full light frame. Intended for high-impact events where the audience forms the light display.

D

Colors & Modes

7 preset colors (red, blue, green, yellow, purple, cyan, white) and 4 light modes (steady, slow flash, fast flash, strobe). Because the LED is RGB-capable, the color is switched electronically — no different LED components per color.

CHAPTER 04

Four Ways to Control Them

Every lanyard works standalone with its button. For events, transmitters add crowd-wide synchronization. The same lanyard can switch control methods — transmitters are field-upgradeable and reusable.

A

Push Button

Built into every lanyard

Long press toggles on/off; single tap cycles colors and modes. Requires no additional equipment — the baseline control on every order.

B

RF Remote

GFC004 — up to 2,000 units

A single press broadcasts to all lanyards within 250 meters. No pairing or APP required. Standard for events up to 2,000 units.

C

APP Control

GFC008 — 2,000+ units

GFLAI's ready-made APP, or a white-label APP branded for the event. Attendee-side control allows guests to select their own lanyard color via smartphone.

D

DMX512

GFC005 — show sync

Connects to any lighting console. Lanyard cues are programmed into your show file and synchronized with stage lighting in milliseconds. Built for stadium tours and televised events.

CHAPTER 05

Customization, End to End

Four elements are customizable on every order. As the producing factory, GFLAI executes all four in-house — eliminating file transfer between agencies and quality gaps between suppliers.

🎨

Logo & Print

Screen print for solid colors, sublimation for full-color gradients. Pantone matched, approved on a physical sample.

✂️

Badge Shape

Standard ABS or medal shells, or laser-cut custom acrylic shapes with no mold fee. Free design support from concept to cut file.

💡

LED & Color

Default 7-color RGB, or firmware-locked to a single brand color. Custom flash sequences can be programmed into the chip.

📦

Packaging

Poly bags, retail boxes, or tray packaging — with your branding printed on the box, ready for resale or event distribution.

Buying Basics

  • Minimum order: 200 units for custom work
  • Pre-production sample recommended for every custom order
  • FCC, CE, RoHS, KC documentation included; other certifications supported with technical data
  • DDP delivery — one landed cost, no surprise fees

Common Buying Mistakes

  • Over-specifying brightness for an indoor gala — bigger LEDs cost more, not better
  • Splitting print, badge, and assembly across three suppliers — quality gaps hide in the seams
  • Skipping the physical sample to save one week — and discovering the print shift at the venue

Questions Buyers Ask

How long do LED lanyard batteries last? +
Most models run 8–12 hours on one set of batteries — long enough for a full event night or work shift. GFH-004 reaches 8–12 hours, while multi-LED models like GFH-001 and GFH-003 run around 8 hours at full brightness.
Can LED lanyards show my brand color? +
Yes. The default RGB LED switches electronically between 7 preset colors, so a specific brand color is selected by control rather than by changing components. For strict brand programs, firmware can be locked to a single color so users cannot switch away from it.
What is the difference between LED lanyards and light-up wristbands? +
Wristbands sit on the wrist and are removed after the show. LED lanyards hang at the chest, carry credentials or badges, and are worn throughout the event — so they combine the light effect with an ID and branding function. Lanyards are also the standard choice when attendees need hands-free wear or neck-level visibility.
Can I reuse LED lanyards for multiple events? +
Yes, several times. Batteries are replaceable, and the strap print lasts through multiple events with normal use. Because the control transmitters are separate from the lanyards, the same batch can be re-synced for a different show with a new color program.
Which model should I choose for a 5,000-person event? +
For a crowd-wide light effect, GFH-001 (strap-lit, 10 LEDs) gives the strongest visibility. For brand-shape badges that get photographed and shared, GFH-005 custom acrylic is the standard choice. Both work with DMX512 or APP sync at that scale.
Are LED lanyards safe to wear all day? +
Yes. The LEDs run cool, the electronics are sealed inside the badge, and optional breakaway buckles release under tension for safety. Certifications FCC, CE, RoHS, and KC cover the key global markets.
How do I get a wholesale quote for LED lanyards? +
Send your quantity, model preference, artwork, and destination through the form below. Because GFLAI is the factory, the quotation comes back directly from the production team within 24 hours — per-unit pricing, sample fee, and one DDP landed cost.
