Every lanyard has a built-in push button. The wearer cycles through 7 colors and 4 flashing modes by tapping the button. It is the simplest form of interaction — no app, no remote, no learning curve. Best for events where individual choice matters more than crowd unity.

Because each person controls their own lanyard, the crowd becomes a mosaic of individual color choices. This works well for brand activations where attendees express their preference, or for casual events where unguided color exploration adds visual depth.

Using the GFC004 RF remote or the GFC008 branded mobile APP, event organizers guide the audience's lanyard colors in real time. With the remote, one press changes every lanyard in the venue. With the APP, users opt in and their phone becomes the control interface.

This is the middle ground between individual freedom and full show control. Because the APP lets attendees pick their own color from a brand-curated palette, they feel involved — but the organizer can still broadcast synchronized color shifts for key moments like a product reveal or award presentation.

The GFC005 DMX transmitter connects to any professional lighting console — grandMA, Hog, Chamsys, Avolites. The lanyards become addressable fixtures in the show file. Cue them like moving heads, LED walls, or strobes. Millisecond sync across every unit.

Because DMX512 is an industry-standard protocol, the lanyards integrate into the existing show timeline without extra hardware. During a song drop, the entire audience shifts to white. During a slow ballad, they fade to warm amber. During the encore, a color wave sweeps from stage right to left — programmed right into the lighting desk.

Interactive LED Lanyard Questions

Do interactive LED lanyards need WiFi or cellular signal to work? +
No. The core control methods — push button and RF remote — operate on 433MHz radio frequency, not WiFi. They work in basements, stadiums with thick concrete, outdoor fields, and any environment where cellular or WiFi coverage is weak. The APP control method does require the user's phone to have Bluetooth or internet access, but this is optional. DMX control runs through a wired console connection at the transmitter side; the lanyards themselves receive RF signals.
Can the same lanyard work with different interaction levels at different times? +
Yes. The lanyard hardware supports all interaction levels simultaneously. You can start the event with push button control (L1), switch to RF remote for a synchronized moment (L2), and then activate DMX show sync for the main performance (L3). The transmitter swap takes seconds — all lanyards automatically respond to the active transmitter. The GFC007 hybrid transmitter even combines DMX and APP control in a single unit, allowing show sync during the performance and attendee control after.
How do attendees download the branded APP? +
The branded APP is distributed via a custom link (QR code on the lanyard card, event website, email blast). GFLAI handles the development and App Store / Google Play submission. The APP is white-label — it shows your brand name, logo, and color scheme, not GFLAI's. For events without a custom APP, attendees can use our generic GFLAI control APP as an alternative.
What is the minimum order for interactive LED lanyards? +
200 units is the standard MOQ for custom orders with strap printing and badge customization. For interactive features specifically, the MOQ depends on the control method: push button (included in all models), RF remote (no MOQ, one GFC004 covers unlimited lanyards), DMX (one GFC005 per show), and APP (one GFC008 per event). The transmitters are one-time purchases that work across multiple events.
Can we develop a custom interactive feature that is not listed here? +
Yes. Because GFLAI is the manufacturer and controls the firmware, hardware, and APP code, we can develop custom interaction modes. Past custom requests include: lanyard color changing based on decibel level (sound-reactive), GPS zone-based color assignment, and countdown timer mode where lanyards flash faster as a deadline approaches. How does zone control work with a single transmitter? +
The GFC005 DMX and GFC008 APP transmitters support zone control natively. Lanyards are pre-configured with a group ID during production (based on your seating or section plan). When the transmitter sends a command targeted at a specific group ID, only lanyards in that group respond. This means one transmitter can independently control VIP sections, general admission, staff, and performers — without needing multiple transmitters or physical separation of lanyard batches.
